In 2001 GIP opened three regional centers: GIP-Sofia (Bulgaria), GIP-Tbilisi (Georgia) and GIP-Vilnius (Lithuania), and a Tajikistan Country Office in Dushanbe.
The regional centers were established in an effort to deepen our work and capacity-building in these regions. They also offer a unique opportunity to respond to the differing needs in different regions. In 2005, all three regional centers became independent legal entities (foundations) with their own regional boards.
In 2009 the UK's Hamlet Trust and GIP joined forces in the UK under the new name Hamlet|GIP. The first project will start in 2010.
For further information about the regional centers, please see the individual pages devoted to each center.
