International Office (GIP-Hilversum)

The GIP International Office is also sometimes referred to as GIP-Hilversum.

GIP-Hilversum is an independent not-for-profit organization (stichting) registered under Dutch law.

It holds a "Certificate of no objection" (Verklaring van geen bezwaar) from CBF, the Central Bureau for Fundraising in The Netherlands, as well as a certification from the Dutch tax authorities known as ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling).


The main tasks of the International Office in Hilversum, The Netherlands include:

  • Coordination of policy development, broad areas of work and strategic planning;
  • Leading certain trans-national and trans-regional projects or projects involving areas of expertise that is lacking in other regions;
  • Networking and advocacy with Dutch and international organizations and institutions;
  • Oversight of project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and project reporting;
  • Project development in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean and support for project development of the regional offices;
  • Fundraising and support for fundraising capacity building of the regional offices;
  • Coordination of activities, administrative and financial matters with the regional centers;
  • Assistance in identifying and involving relevant experts as required;
  • Coordination of core GIP publications.
